Sophometrics — reliability

Beginning in the early 1990's, the Internet transitioned from an academic fascination to a core commercial activity. This created both a boom in critical facility construction and a sudden increase in the use of formal analysis methods to implement critical facility infrastructure.

The data centers designed in the 1990s are mature now. There are failures and complaints. Our experience in forensics places Sophometrics in the enviable position of knowing which data center designs are successful and why. Further, our experience helps us understand how to best analyze the value (and risk) of specific maintenance activities.

The link between information technology and heath care delivery (i.e., real time patient care in our nation's hospitals), the growing number of automated production lab devices, and the growing importance of computational research in the biological sciences are creating new pressures in hospital and laboratory facilities to increase the reliability of these critical systems. Sophometrics is ready for these changes in the healthcare industry through design experience in both health care systems and critical facilities.

Sophometrics’ founder, Doug Bors, holds two patents and one patent pending for power converter control algorithms that improve both efficiency and reliability in critical power systems.

Sophometrics has developed trusted partnerships with several engineering firms on the West Coast so we can draw on engineering support from Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco in order to manage complex projects for critical facilities from planning through design, to implementation and maintenance. This way, we leverage our experience for the greatest benefit of our clients.
